Benefits of drinking coffee

Apart from being the most loved beverage all over the world, coffee has some health benefits too.Previously it was on food carcinogens list, but a lot of research has been done on coffee past few years and it's all been in favor of coffee.
Many new health benefits are being discovered.

The most recent is “FILTERED COFFEE is tied to Lower Diabetes Risk in Metabolomics Study”

There are so many varieties of coffee: espresso, filtered coffee, boiled coffee,Cappuccino, latte.
But the filtered coffee has health benefits.
In a Swedish case-control study, drinking filtered coffee was associated with
a lower 10-year risk of developing type 2 diabetes than abstaining from coffee
completely.
While making filtered coffee the harmful metabolites  previously associated
with increased risk of cardiovascular disease (diterpenes) present in coffee
are stuck to the cloth used in making filtered coffee.
Adults who drank two to three cups of filtered coffee a day had a 58% lower risk
of developing type 2 diabetes within 10 years than those who drank less than
one cup of filtered coffee a day.

Association of coffee and cancers treatment-
Previously it was known that coffee is a risk factor for many cancers like
pancreatic cancer, bladder cancer,liver cancer.
But recent research has refuted these concerns.
Recent research suggests that coffee might protect against hepatocellular
carcinoma (HCC) . Caffeine is a natural antagonist to extracellular adenosine.
It provides  increased survival following OLT (orthotopic liver transplant) in
patients of liver cancers. Those patients with postoperative coffee intake
(≥3 cups per day) had a longer overall survival than those who consumed
less or no coffee.
Other studies have found that coffee drinkers may have a reduced risk of
  • cardiovascular disease (including heart attack, heart failure, and stroke)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • uterine and liver cancer
  • gout
If you are not a coffee person, these research does not imply that you start
drinking coffee. There are no proper guidelines about it. And if in future
better research confirms its use, coffee extracts without harmful molecules
could come up as health supplements.
If you are a heavy coffee drinker then just try to decrease the amount.
Keep it in moderation.
Keep enjoying your coffee.
